Alternative Acne Treatments That Work ????

Alternative Acne Treatments that Work – Find Best Alternative Acne Treatments that Work

There are several acne alternative treatments that can help impede or even cure acne. The Chinese believe that acne is caused by toxicity and heat in the blood stream. Some view acne as a digestive problem where the poisons from poor digestion are discharged into the skin.; One of the most elemental alternative acne treatments is to consume a low fat diet, maintain proper hygiene, and eat proper vitamins.

Saturated fat intake should be kept to a minimum, as they can damage the tissue of the body, and also induce inflammation. It has also be proposed to abstain from foods that may cause heat to build up in the body, like garlic, coffee, or spicy foods. Plenty of Vitamin A should be consumed, as it is essential for healthy skin. Zinc is also important as it helps heal the skin, and reduces hormonal imbalances.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential as they maintain cell membranes and aid in the transport of nutrients to the cells. Acidophilus capsules may be used to help with digestion. Daily bowl movements are important so a high fiber diet should be adhered to. For acne that is cause by menstruation Vitamin B-6 is important as it can help regularly maintain the proper metabolism of the increased release of hormones.

Some acne alternative treatments that may be applied directly to the skin include a honey facial. This is done by putting uncooked honey onto ones face and leaving it on the skin for five to ten minutes. Honey is said to revitalize the skin. Alternately tea tree oil may be applied to the skin. This has been said to impede bacteria from growing on the skin.

Exfoliants may be used to treat acne and pimples. Glycolic acid and lactic acid are alpha-hydroxyl acids that are found in citrus fruits. It is suggested that they lessen dead skin cells from building up. Therefore lemon juice can be mixed with water and applied to the face. The juice should be allowed to dry on the skin for up to ten minutes and then is should be rinsed off. If one has sensitive skin more water may be required to the blend so the individual doesn’t experience too much of a “burning” sensation.Herbalists have their own concoctions to use as pimple alternative treatments.

They suggest evening primrose oil, or black current seed oil capsules. Alternatively some recommend teas with Echinacea or goldenseal. Exercise and relaxation are also important alternative treatments for acne, as the body needs to be at its peak.

While alternative acne treatments are controversial, especially with doctors, their success depends highly on the individual and the degree of acne they are suffering from. For more information about how to Clear your Skin From Acne Naturally in Weeks Click Here Now

Menstruation Disorders – Dysmenorrhea – Herbs Used to Treat Dampness in a TCM Perspective

All women experience an irregular period once in awhile during their child bearing years. While Western medication has never viewed irregular menstruation as a problem of a women’s reproductive system, traditional Chinese medicine looks at this problem seriously and that if left untreated, it will disharmonize the women’s ecosystem, leading to nervous tension and other health problems, including infertility. Dampness is defined as a condition of fluids accumulating in the body due to a deficiency of kidney yang and the inability of the spleen to absorb energy over a prolonged period of time.

Herbs used to treat dampness include:

1. Fu ling(matsuhodo)
Fu ling is one of the most frequently used herbs in promoting the kidney in urinary secretion and improving the spleen in food absorption. Thereby it releases the water retention in the body and promotes strong kidney and spleen qi in assisting the liver functions in blood formation and transportation of blood to the circulatory system, resulting in lessening the risk of heart abnormalities.

2. Zhu ling (polyporus sclerotium)
This herb promotes kidney urinary secretion. It also helps to expel the dampness (fluid retention) from the body tissues.

3. Ze Xie (water plantain root)
Ze xie has been used frequently in TCM to clean phlegm caused by lung congestion as a result of
excessive dampness accumulating in the lung. It also improves the kidney’s function in secreting urine, thereby reducing the risk of fluid retention in the body tissues.

4. Tong Cao (ricepaper plant pith)
Tong cao promotes the lung and stomach channel. Deficiency of yang as a result of dampness (fluid retention) in the body interferes with the lung’s function in moving and circulating structural body substances, leading to fluids accumulating in the underlayer of the skin. On the other hand, it also helps to improve the spleen’s function in food absorption and waste secretion, thereby reducing the dampness through urinary secretion.

5. Bei Xie (dioscorea root )
The main function of bei xie is to improve the stomach’s function in separating the pure from the turbid after the foods enter the stomach, thereby reducing the extra dampness by expelling them through kidney urinary secretion.

6. Han Fang Ji (stephania root)
Han fang ji is one of the Chinese herbs that has been used to treat fluid retention in the underlayer of the skin of the lower part of the body, including the abdomen.

There are many Chinese herbs that can be used to treat dampness, depending on your diagnosis. Normally people with dampness patterns may also experience some kind of side effect such as heat, sweating, etc. It is for your benefit to work closely with your Chinese herbalist, so your problem can be solved effectively.

Menstruation Disorders – Dysmenorrhea – Causes of Blood and Qi Stagnation in TCM Perspective

All women experience irregular period sometimes during their child bearing years, before menopause. While Western medication has never viewed that irregular menstruation is a problem for a women’s reproductive system, traditional Chinese medicine looks at this problem seriously, if untreated, it will dis-harmonize the women’s ecosystem, leading to nervous tension and other health problems, including infertility. Girls in South East Asia have learned in their early life from their grandmother’s wisdom that they do not engage in any activity that distort their regular period.

Liver is important for blood formation and the lung. It helps to regulate the movement of qi in the body. Obstruction of blood in certain organs may also cause qi stagnation, leading to menstrual cramps and pain before, during and after menstruation. Causes of blood and qi stagnation include:

1. Chronic inflammation
The prolonged period of inflammation causes blood static as a result of increasing blood flow to inflammation regions and distorting the immune system in fighting against foreign bacteria and virus function, leading to blood stagnation.

2. Liver function
Liver is vital for blood formation and waste removal. Abnormal function of liver causes old estrogen or other hormones as well as old blood remaining in the body’s organs, leading to blood stagnation thus increasing the risk of menstrual irregularity and dysmenorrhrea.

3. Inability of respiratory function
If the lung is damaged for whatever reasons, it may affect the lung’s ability to move qi in the pathway of the meridian, leading to blood stagnation in the reproductive region.

4. Stress and depression
Stress and depression caused by an unexpected event can affect the liver function in regulating the psychosocial symptoms of the nervous system and physical symptoms of blood formation, leading to liver qi and blood stagnation that contribute to symptoms of dysmenorrhrea.

5. Unhealthy diet
Unhealthy diet high in saturated and trans fat affect the blood and qi movement, because it causes the building up of cholesterol in the blood stream, thereby reducing the lung’s function in regulating qi movement and the heart’s function in blood circulation.

PMS Causes and Cures

While the exact causes of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) are unknown, the reported symptoms have remained virtually unchanged for decades. PMS is experienced by women of child-bearing age and symptoms include emotional, physical and psychological disruptions. Here we will evaluate what is happening in the body during a bout of PMS and how you might use vitamins and supplements to ease the severity of the symptoms.

PMS seems to occur when estrogen levels drop. In a normal menstrual cycle, estrogen levels slowly rise until about two weeks before menstruation. Then, they sharply fall until menstruation begins. During this two weeks, many women experience anxiety, fatigue, headaches, mood swings, fluid retention, insomnia and depression.

There seems to be a link with the drop in estrogen and production of the mood, appetite and sleep regulating hormone, serotonin. While there is no medical proof that low serotonin levels result in PMS, the symptoms are consistent with low levels of serotonin. Additionally, we know that estrogen keeps serotonin from breaking down and the two normally work together in the body to regulate mood and cognition.

Treatment for PMS revolves around treating the symptoms. Your doctor may recommend drugs for depression, therapy, dietary changes and exercise to ease symptoms. In addition, you may find supplementing with certain vitamins helpful. Talk to your doctor about the proper dosages before you buy vitamins.

Many studies have been done to determine which vitamins and minerals are most helpful in relieving PMS symptoms. There is substantial proof that taking calcium, vitamin D, magnesium, vitamin B6 and vitamin C can ease symptoms, each in a different way.

Calcium supplements can relieve all PMS symptoms except fatigue and insomnia. Almost all women that suffer from PMS are calcium deficient. It can take up to three months of supplementing to correct the imbalance, so be patient and take your supplements regularly.

Calcium works in three ways. The nervous system, muscular system and the hormonal systems all require a certain amount of calcium to function properly. When estrogen levels drop, the demand for calcium is increased. The body takes the calcium that it needs from the bones.

The calcium that is taken from bone is very hard for the body to use and it is believed that a lot of the fatigue associated with PMS is attributed to the body’s concentration on processing the bone calcium. Low calcium levels cause muscle cramps and spasms. Nerve impulse transmission is also affected. Additionally, low estrogen levels make the absorption of calcium more difficult.

Vitamin D can also be taken to increase absorption of calcium. Magnesium is also proven to greatly reduce PMS symptoms by working with estrogen to reduce stress, water retention, and relax muscles. Magnesium combined with vitamin B-6 also can relieve anxiety.

Many women suffer heavy menstrual bleeding, which can lead to anemia through iron loss. Vitamin C has a significant impact on iron absorption and can help with fatigue. Heavy bleeding is generally caused by weak and fragile blood vessels. They leak as inflammation increases and can make menstruation more painful, exhausting and even dangerous. Vitamin C taken daily reduces heavy bleeding by strengthening blood vessels and reducing inflammation. If vitamin C is not well tolerated by your stomach, try a buffered vitamin C powder.

Talk with your doctor about treating your PMS with vitamins and supplements before you buy vitamins. It is important to be sure that your symptoms are caused by PMS and not another underlying condition.
